Wild Horse Mountain Clean Up | Hosted by Suzuki Sweep Ups

Event Overview 

Location: Wild Horse Mountain Lookout Carpark (Basecamp)

Collaborating Club: 4WD Qld, Brisbane 4WD Club, and Wanderer's Brisbane 

Events Objective: Tackle illegal dumping at the site, as well as plastics and general litter, to restore the area while sticking to a gazelled track/roadway. 

Schedule and Logistics

• Meeting Point: Wild Horse Mountain Lookout Carpark for Safety Briefing. 
• Base Camp Set-Up: Event will have portable skips (rented for the day), Marquee with volunteers handing out water and snacks, and a big map showing the route with sections and rubbish hotspots  marked. The Attached Map only shows the planned route. 
• Groups: Aiming for ~60 Vehicles split in 6 groups of 10, each with a 1:10 organiser-to-participant ratio. Each group will focus on a designated section of the route. 
• Lunch: Participants will return to the carpark for a cooked lunch organised by the Brisbane 4WD Club. 
• End of the Day: Event will finish the marked "End Point" on the Map - nice spot by the water for an debrief and relaxation. 

Safety Measures 

• Safety briefing
• PPE: Gloves and bags for all volunteers (Hi-Vis Clothing if required by HQ Plantations)
• Organiser-to-participant ratio of 1:10 to ensure everyone's looked after.
